Fox Asset Management is a registered investment advisor founded in 1985. A wholly owned subsidiary of Eaton Vance Corp., Fox’s only business is managing equity, fixed-income and balanced investment portfolios on behalf of individual and institutional clients. Our firm’s guiding investment objectives are long-term total return and preservation of capital, goals that we believe are appropriate to a long-term investment perspective and to most clients’ threshold comfort level.
Fox employs a value-oriented equity strategy to seek quality companies that are inexpensive or undervalued relative to the overall market. Screening begins with a focus on identifying growing companies whose stocks are selling at discounted price-to-earnings (P/E) and price-to-cash-flow (P/CF) multiples. Fox favors those companies that are characterized by strong balance sheets and above-average dividend yields.
We also attempt to discern intrinsic asset values that are not widely recognized by others in the industry. Every investment candidate is subjected to rigorous fundamental analysis, both from a quantitative and qualitative perspective, as we employ our disciplined "bottom-up" investment approach. In selecting stocks, we seek to identify emerging and established trends that point to profit growth; we are not overly reliant on economic trends. Typically, our portfolios are fully invested. If cash builds because of our sell discipline, however, portfolios are likely to hold transitional cash until stocks that meet our value criteria become available.
